Congratulations!
First and foremost, we'd like to congratulate you on your engagement! It
is an exciting time in your life and we want you to know that while your task may seem daunting and maybe even impossible - it isn't. The
stress so many couples deal with while planning a wedding can be avoided
by choosing a reliable and experienced vendor. The best vendors cover all the bases and want to know what each other are doing to best coordinate a successful event. It may seem like you have a never-ending list of things to do, but we will help you get through it so you can enjoy your day!
First Steps
When booking a DJ, the first thing to consider is what kind of wedding/reception you want. We have done weddings that stylistically range everywhere from rustic vintage to ultra modern, and every bride and groom put their own twist on their wedding. Once you have decided on a direction for your wedding/reception, feel confident in the fact that Ampersand Production has the experience to help support your vision and make it a reality.
Budgeting
One of the worst words in wedding planning is "budget," and it's obvious why; if we didn't have to worry about how much money we were spending on a wedding, everyone's wedding could be a "platinum wedding." Unfortunately most people do have a budget (if you don't please call me right now), and we need to be extra conscious of where our money is going because shaving off a little money from the florist can mean upgrading from the standard banquet chairs to chaivari chairs!
One thing that is always a wise investment is an experienced DJ. DJs offer the most bang for your buck for several reasons. Compared to a live band, experienced DJs have a wider selection of music than most bands can play. Experienced DJs don't usually take more than once break, bands take a break several times over the course of their performing time. A DJ's music won't start singing off key. A DJ does the work of a 5-piece band at a fraction of the cost. With the amount of variables associated with a band (band members, instruments, equipment) there's a much better chance that something will not go wrong with a band rather than with an experienced DJ.
Ok, so you've decided a DJ is a better investment than a band (you're so smart). The last few things to consider: there is a huge difference between an experienced, professional DJ and a "DJ". If you're paying less than $600 for the DJ at your wedding (off season & non-Saturday), you have a "DJ". It is likely that they don't have the appropriate equipment, and even more importantly, the experience needed to run the reception once it starts. We at Ampersand Production have been in a variety of tight situations, and it is the experience we have gained over the years of work we've done that has made us, and also your wedding a fantastic success.
A final consideration: Out of everything you will have at your wedding, most guests remember the DJ/entertainment more than anything else; more than the cake, more than the flowers, more than the food, more than the decorations, more than the venue, and even more than the dress (surprising, I know). Now, consider how much you will spend on each of those compared to how much you will spend on your DJ. Make certain that you budget for your DJ appropriately; your guests will remember whether or not you hired the right experienced DJ for the job. Book Ampersand Production and your guests will remember what a fantastic night they had celebrating with you!

Unbeatable Service
Whether other DJs will admit it or not, if you're working as an entertainment company in the wedding industry, you are part of the service industry. The key word here is SERVICE. We are here to provide a service to you, the client. Ampersand Production prides itself in its professionalism and in the high quality of service we provide. We take special care to make certain your concerns and special requests are addressed and appropriately accommodated. It's your wedding and we want your guests to know that it is fully a representation of the bride and groom, not just the DJ's favorite tunes. We take special care in making certain our service is unbeatable
High-Quality Equipment
Ampersand Production always uses the highest quality equipment that is no more than 3 years old. Why? Because even if we bring a back-up system (which we always do for weddings), there is still going to be a period of dead air. Using the high-quality equipment we've never had a system failure at any of our events. It's just one less thing to have to worry about on your big day.
Knowledge and Experience
Experience is one of the few things in life that can't be faked, not for long anyway. A DJ either has the experience to properly coordinate your wedding or doesn't. Ampersand Production started DJing back in 1998 which gives us a lot of experience and because of all this experience, we feel fairly knowledgeable about weddings. We are able to answer all your questions and will help you organize and optimize the reception timeline so that everything goes off smoothly. And, if for some reason uncle Jim knocks the wedding cake onto the floor, we'll be ready with our experience and knowledge to make it seem as though it was all planned that way.
